Trevor and I both live in the wonderful, beautiful and amazing ancient city of Durham in the north-east of England, 15 miles south of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Trevor was born in the nearby former mining village of Bearpark, and has lived within a 5-mile radius of Durham Cathedral for his whole life.

I was born in Portsmouth, in the south of England, but moved to Durham in 1976 and have been here ever since. I am very proud of our city and adore our fabulous cathedral and the surrounding countryside.

We live walking distance from the city centre, and we have fields, paths and wooded areas to explore very close to our home, including a gorgeous pond that has a variety of birds such as swans, ducks and geese.

In addition, we're only 30 minutes by car from the coastline in Sunderland. Why would we ever want to live anywhere else?
